Do you know the country your groceries come from?

Go to any supermarket in the United States of American and just try to determine what country that food comes from? Sure one can tell on specialty food, but what about everyday items? Peanut butter, jelly, canned tomatoes, breakfast cereal, tuna, etc., all have their nation of origin omitted from the labeling. "Distributed by," "packaged," "manufactured for," all do not reveal the nation these items come from. There was a move in Congress to enact legislation to put such labels on our food, however the Congress has been purchased by the food importers and as a result, no such identification. Yet if you purchase a hammer, wrench, or vacuum cleaner, or any other product not to be digested, you can located on the product or packing the nation of origin.
